About Alexander Lloyde
From Finance to Foundations
My Previous career was in the world of Finance, every day I sat at my desk watching people go about their routines. But there was one man I could never forget. Each morning, he would walk past my office window and take a seat at the gas station next door. He stayed there for hours — sometimes the whole day — quietly existing in a world that hurried past him.
Most people didn’t look his way. To them, he was invisible. But to me, he wasn’t. I always made it a point to say “hello” or “good day,” just to remind him that someone saw him, that he mattered. I didn’t know his story, but I knew he needed support. I knew he needed a place to call home.
When I left that job, I found myself thinking about him often. Not seeing him every morning made me wonder: Did he ever find stability? Did he ever find a home?
Months later, as I was driving home, I saw him again — in a completely different part of town. His appearance told me everything: he was still unhoused, still struggling, still overlooked.
And in that moment something shifted inside me.
I realized that I could no longer wait for someone else to fix the problem. I couldn’t keep hoping that “someone” would step in.
I had to ask myself a simple but life-changing question:
If not me, then who?
That is the moment Alexander Lloyde was born — out of a desire to be the solution instead of waiting for one. My mission became clear:
To provide safe, stable housing for people who are overlooked, underserved, and too often forgotten.
Today, every room we open, every client we place, and every partnership we build honors that moment — and honors people like him, who deserve to be seen, supported, and given the chance to rebuild.
